Currency movements matter to businesses, importers and consumers because changes in the dollar’s value can influence import costs, international payments and other foreign exchange transactions.

The latest open-market figures show only a minor change in the dollar’s selling rate. However, exchange rates remain important for businesses and consumers managing dollar-related payments.
