Karachi, April 19, 2019: Pakistani cricketers are barred to accompany their families during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
Previously, family members including wife and children of players were allowed to accompany them.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), families of cricketers will not be permitted to go with the cricket players during the World Cup. The international cricket tournament is scheduled to be held in England and Wales from May 30, 2019.
However, PCB has allowed that spouses of players can accompany the squad during the upcoming series with England.
Spouses and children have always been allowed to accompany players, however, it became a norm after 2010. The wives and children of players accompanied the squad during Champions Trophy tournament in 2017.
Pakistan’s cricket world cup squad is scheduled to depart for England on April 23. While the Pakistani team will play the first match of the world cup against West Indies on May 31. While earlier it will play two warm-up matches with Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
