Karachi, November 7, 2018: After the State Bank of Pakistan’ categorically denial on data hacking, Pakistani banks are also react on cyber attack issue to restore customers’ confidence.
Following the directives of the State Bank, a number of banks have issued statements on cyber attack issue to ensure that customers data is saved.
Most of the banks said that they have comprehensively reviewed and tested its security systems and find that no attempt was made at breaching their systems.
On the directives of the regulator, the security and payment system controls are under strict 24/7 check and are robust enough to thwart any hacking attempt. Banks are also prepared to intimate the customers in time, in case any unusual activity deducted.
So far, MCB Bank, Meezan Bank, Summit Bank, Telenor Microfinance Bank, and several other banks have issued statements that their systems are secure and under round the clock monitoring.
“In view of the latest wave of cyber-attacks that has shocked the local banking system”, Telenor Microfinance Bank said in its statement.
The Bank thus encourages customers to use its products and services confidently and freely across Pakistan, it added.
“We have run comprehensive security system checks and found that everything is safe and in total control,” said Shahid Mustafa, President & CEO, Telenor Microfinance Bank.
All customers can use products and services free from fear as we are working round-the-clock to ensure safe banking nationwide, he added.

The State Bank of Pakistan too, in a statement issued late Tuesday night, has categorically rejected the rumors that data of most banks has been hacked.
Instead, the SBP says, except for one bank, there is no evidence to this effect provided to SBP by any law enforcement agency.
