KPC Super Sixes Night Cricket Tournament 2026 Begins in Karachi
The tournament will feature 32 media teams, matches on a blue turf wicket and a women’s exhibition match on October 31.
The Naya Nazimabad–Karachi Press Club (KPC) Super Sixes Night Cricket Tournament 2026 is set to begin today at 6pm at the Karachi Press Club, bringing together 32 teams from newspapers, television channels and digital media organisations.
Organised in collaboration with Naya Nazimabad and the Sindh government’s Sports Department, the tournament aims to promote sports and strengthen ties among media professionals. KPC Secretary Muhammad Aslam Khan will inaugurate the event.
The opening match will feature Karachi Press Club Blues and Business Recorder Digital. Other participating teams include Cameraman XI, BR, Geo News, Geo Super, ARY News, Express News, Dunya News, Jasarat and Daily Jang, along with teams representing other media organisations.
One of this year’s key attractions is the use of a blue turf wicket for the first time at the tournament. Organisers have also scheduled a women’s exhibition cricket match for October 31 at 4pm to encourage women’s participation in sports and promote sporting activities within journalistic circles.
The preliminary matches will take place on October 30 and 31. The semi-finals and final are scheduled for November 7, when the closing ceremony will also be held. Outstanding teams and players will be recognised for their performances.
KPC Secretary Aslam Khan thanked Arif Habib, chairman of Arif Habib Group, and Syed Muhammad Talha, president of Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana, for supporting the tournament.
The event will give journalists, cameramen, photographers and digital media professionals an opportunity to demonstrate their cricketing skills in a competitive but friendly setting.
Organisers expect the tournament to encourage healthy activities, strengthen professional relationships and promote camaraderie among journalists from different media organisations.
