Karachi, September 13, 2019: ITCN Asia, launched in 2001 is now being organized for the 19th consecutive year, and has grown to become the biggest IT & Telecom event in Pakistan. Besides local companies, some of the biggest global brands will showcase their state-of-the-art products and services, allowing the user community to get exposure to a wide range of technology and solutions under one roof.
Most importantly, it would provide an opportunity for business-to-business alliances, leveraging their mutual strengths. ITCN Asia Exhibitions & Conferences, organized by the country’s biggest exhibitions organizer, Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd., has been playing a pivotal role in land-marking the image of Pakistan on the world IT map, bringing in huge foreign and local investments into the country.
The Exhibition will be spread out over 6 Halls at the Expo Centre, offering over 15,000sqm floor space, and with over 550 local and 250 international companies from 23+ countries expected to set up their stalls. Over 55,000 visitors are expected to visit ITCN Asia over its 3 days run.
Concurrently there will be a major conference on each day, namely AI Summit, IT Minister’s Forum for Youth, Innovation, Industry & Ease of Doing Business and Cyber Security Conference. Additionally there will be several breakout sessions and opportunities for B2B meetings to be set up by industry players during the 3 days.
Speaking about the event, Umair Nizam, Vice President & Director of Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan, stated: ‘There is substantial potential for Pakistan to exponentially develop the IT sector and even make it the biggest foreign exchange earner for Pakistan in coming years, besides creating employment for a million or more people, even within the next 3 years.
Since the last 70 years, Pakistan’s IT Sector’s strategy has been vertical pillar growth, working with 100 companies. The global model is the ‘Horizontal Pyramid Growth Strategy’; create 80 percent of the base with domestic commerce.
The remaining 20 percent at the top of the pyramid is international commerce. Domestic commerce can open up several opportunities within Pakistan connecting SMEs from Farm to Market and Village to Big City. And creation of international e-commerce platforms connects SMEs of Pakistan to the world.’
At ITCN Asia 2019, Ecommerce Gateway will also be launching their B2B portal, ecombri.com, which is a unique buyer and seller platform of the Belt Road Initiative (BRI) countries.
This will a huge new opportunity for opening up of several new opportunities for Pakistan, including increase in exports of non-IT products and services which have immense demand abroad, and leveraging of the BRI through joint ventures between Pakistan and Chinese SMEs to capture world markets. It is estimated that this platform and association initiatives will have the potential of enhancing non-IT export to $50 billion in three years.
