Novo Pakistan Pledges Support for Insulin Access Amid Rising Diabetes Burden

KARACHI, October 21, 2026: Novo Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting access to insulin for people living with diabetes, as concerns continue over the availability of essential treatment in the country.

The company said it is working closely with its partners to help maintain continuity of treatment. It also emphasised the importance of reliable insulin access for patients and their families.

Pakistan has an estimated 33 million people living with diabetes, with more than one million relying on insulin. The growing burden highlights the need for practical, long-term measures to support diabetes management and improve access to treatment.

Mehtaz Sultan Khan, General Manager of Novo Pakistan, said diabetes care had remained central to the company’s work for more than a century. She added that ensuring dependable access to insulin remained a priority.

“For people who depend on insulin, reliable access to treatment is essential. We recognise the concerns being raised and are stepping up to play our part in supporting patients in Pakistan,” Khan said.

Novo Pakistan said it would continue working with healthcare professionals, policymakers and patient communities to support better diabetes care across the country.

The company also advised people who have concerns about their prescribed insulin to consult a healthcare professional about appropriate next steps. Patients can access educational resources, guidance and connections to healthcare professionals through NovoCare.
