Karachi, October 16, 2019: A hurricane undefeated century by opener Sikander Hassan and fine half-century by Qasim Ali inspired while five wickets haul by Ex 2 zone U-19 captain paceman Haider Razaq Mujahid Gymkhana defeated Mansoora Sports by 10 wickets to win the third and final match to win the Muhammad Ali Memorial best of three cricket series with clean sweep at Mansoora cricket club ground here on other day.
However, the Mujahid Gymkhana won all two matches against Mansoora Sports first by 5 wickets and then second by 165 runs.
Chasing a stiff target of 172 in the third and final match against a home side at the home ground Mujahid Gymkhana CC were home by without losing any wicket with 12 overs to spare.
The deserving triumph was set up by Sikander Hassan and Qasim Ali who together put on an unbroken opening partnership of 172. They plundered a bowling line-up featuring experienced bowlers.
Sikandar hammered 10 boundaries and two six in brilliant 105* from just 42 balls, while Qasim Ali struck a 33-ball 60* with the aid of 7 fours and a six.
Earlier after won the toss to bat, Mansoora Sports reached 171-10 in 30 overs with Haris Ali (62 off 37 balls, six fours) and Shoaib Khaliq (40 off 31 four fours) involved in an 72 runs stand.
Ex captain Zone 2 under 19 upcoming paceman Haider Razaq claimed 5 wickets for 24 runs in 6 overs while slow left armer Nasit Bukhari grabbed 3 wickets for 17 runs in 6 overs both did the damage done.
Chief Guest, Ex-president KCCA Zone 2 Nusrat Mahboob Siddiqi presented the winners’ trophy to Mujahid Gymkhana captain Saeed Nabi while runner up trophy to Mansoora Sports captain at the presentation ceremony.
Winners of the individual awards, Sikander Hassan ( Man of the series for his tally not out of 215 runs including century and two fifties in the competition), Nasit Bukhari (best bowler, 10 wickets ) and Qasim Ali ( Most valuable player-of-the-Series he scored 91runs earlier and 60 runs not out in a final match).
The ceremony was also graced by Ex Treasure of KCCA Zone 2 Zafar Khan Aqa khel, founder President Mujahid Gymkhana Iqbal Khan, Jahanzeb Khaliq of Mansoora Sports and others.
