Karachi, September 04, 2020: Million Smiles Foundation and Al-Khidmat Foundation have started relief activities in the affected areas of Karachi. It is to be noted that as a result of the recent rains, the low-lying areas of Karachi were inundated, due to which life was suspended there.
Due to the recent rains, the record of 5 years of rains has been broken in Karachi and facing the situation of Urban Flooding in Karachi at present.
Given this situation, the Million Smiles Foundation, in collaboration with the Al-Khidmat Foundation, has decided to help the citizens living in the affected areas. Under this, dry rations, medical aid, cooked food, and other essentials will be provided to the stranded citizens in these areas.
Speaking on the incident, Zeeshan Afzal, CEO of Million Smiles Foundation, said that “Karachi is the economic hub of Pakistan, it is a very unfortunate situation that Karachi has no personnel. He said that in the past this city has been neglected by the authorities and the result is in front of us in the form of recent rains, people’s houses have been submerged, vehicles and motorbikes have been destroyed due to urban flooding. And people are confined to their homes”.
He Further added, “That is why Million Smiles Foundation in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation in Karachi will do everything possible to help the needy citizens. In this hour of calamity, the entire nation stands side by side with Karachi. He said that in this regard, if necessary, international forums will be approached and Million Smiles Foundation volunteers will be present in the field until the situation gets normalcy.”
