Karachi, August 24, 2023: Following the directives of the provincial Minister for Municipalities, Mubeen Jamani, the Municipal Department has issued a notification and barred the relevant authorities from approving building and plot designs.
According to the notification, the restrictions will be applicable to the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and all relevant development authorities as well as all types of buildings and layout plans across the province.
The enforcement of these restrictions is a secondary order issued by the Municipal Department. In this regard, instructions have been issued to the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), Malir Development Authority (MDA), and Lyari Development Authority (LDA).
The Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA), Sukkur Development Authority (SDA), and the Town Planning Department will also be subject to these restrictions.
The Sindh Municipal Department has stated that restrictions will also apply to the inclusion of plots across Sindh.
