Islamabad, September 21, 2023: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday announced the date to hold general elections across the country.
According to the details, the ECP announced to publish the preliminary list of the constituencies on September 27, according to which the general election will take place across the country. In a statement, the ECP revealed that the general election would be held in the last week of January, meanwhile the election schedule will be released soon.
The ECP will publish the initial list of constituencies on September 27, with the final list of constituencies to be published on November 30.
The Election Commission has stated that elections will take place in the last week of January, exactly 54 days after the publication of the final list.
It is pertinent to mention here that, to overcome the uncertainty in the country regarding the general election, the election commission considered releasing the schedule of the election as soon as possible.
As per credible sources within ECP, an approved electoral schedule has been sent to the Election Commission, and according to the approved schedule, the process of filing nomination papers will begin in December.
