KE consumers to face another hike in power tariff

Karachi, September 27, 2023: The Federal government on Wednesday notified an increase in tariff for K-Electric consumers from Rs 1.48 to Rs 4.45 per unit.

According to the details, the federal government approved the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA’s) summary to increase the power tariff.

As per the notification, the hike in the power tariff for K-Electric consumers was approved by the federal government on account of the first quarter adjustment of FY 2022-23.

Consumers using up to 300 units have to pay an additional Rs 1.48 per unit, while for those using more than 301 units will be charged Rs 3.21 per unit.

KE will charge Rs 4.45 per unit for consumers with a load of more than 5 kilowatts and the same rate has been set for electric vehicle charging stations.

The KE consumers will have to make these additional payments in the months of October and November.
