Sargodha, October 23 , 2023 :Police on Monday arrested two members of a bike-lifting gang and recovered eight motorcycles from them.
Police said officials conducted raid and arrested two accused, including Muhammad Sudheer and Bilal, who were involved in 10 cases of motorcycle lifting incidents in the district.
A case was registered against the accused.
Earlier to this, a large-scale crackdown operation against power theft in the area of Sherpao Muslimabad, Landhi, K-Electric teams, supported by Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA), dislodged cables weighing over 800 kilograms, which were illegally supplying power to more than 100 residential and commercial locations.
The cables were resolutely dismantled despite resistance from the local kunda mafia. It is pertinent to mention that not only is power theft recognized as the cause of load-shed, it also damages power cables and overloads transformers causing power outages which affect.
As a result power distribution companies across Pakistan have scaled up efforts to combat this menace.
