Karachi, November 08, 2023: Hamdard Pakistan has teamed up with Agha Steel Industries Limited to embark on a groundbreaking venture aimed at revolutionizing the construction landscape in Pakistan.
This ambitious project seeks to promote sustainability and eco-friendliness by integrating 100 percent refined steel, produced through world-accredited technology Electric Arc Furnace, into the design and construction of eco-friendly green housing structures within Karachi.
In the midst of the picturesque locale of Shahra-e-Fasial loaded with taller structures of offices and buildings in Karachi, Hamdard Pakistan is set to house the magnificent Corporate office for 400 employees and a University Block, poised to become the safest office and university complex building in the city.
This architectural masterpiece structure seamlessly blends modernity with the splendor of beautification. Spanning over around 250,000 sq ft, the structure boasts an impressive 22 levels, each with its own unique view. As the pinnacle of luxurious Corporate Office and University Block, Hamdard Pakistan is all set to redefine the architectural landscape of Karachi.
With a minimum yield strength of 72,500 pounds per square inch, Agha Arcon Green Grade G500 Rebars surpass conventional reinforcement bars by an impressive strength. The use of Green G500 brings about 15% reduction in consumption and note worthy 10% cost savings as compared to Grade 60 rebars.
Between the two prominent organizations, Hamdard Pakistan and Agha Steel Industries have outlined their shared commitment to fostering environmentally responsible construction practices. Under the terms of this exclusive agreement, Agha Steel Industries will supply at Hamdard’s corporate office and University Block 100% refined steel rebars produced using Green Electric Arc Furnace steelmaking technology, demonstrating the partners’ unwavering commitment to quality and sustainability.

Agha Steel Industries led a Green Steel Revolution through sustainability of its energy mix by installing a 2.25 Megawatt solar power project and signing a term Sheet with Engro Energy for Renewable Energy. Agha also stated, “Our State of the art plant utilizes scrap-based Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) technology. By using recycled scrap for our raw material, we reduce the need for natural resources. Our CO2 Scope 1 green-house gas emissions and energy consumption intensities are approximately 7 times less than the global steel making average, making the Green Arc Furnace Technology environmentally friendly.”
