Karachi, November 13, 2023 : A momentous Memorandum of Agreement has been inked between Kyungdong University in South Korea and Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) aimed at fortifying collaboration, facilitating joint initiatives between the two universities, encompassing student and faculty exchanges, collaborative research endeavors, and shared resources.

A high-profile delegation led by Kyungdong University’s President, Mr. John Kyu Lee, Ms. Chaewon Jung, Managing Director, and Dr. Sehrish Gul, Assistant Professor at KDU, visited Sir Syed University. The delegation extensively discussed with SSUET’s faculty and officials regarding KDU’s Global Academic Collaboration Program.

The signing ceremony witnessed President Prof. Dr. Johan Lee representing Kyungdong University Global Campus and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin signing the agreement on behalf of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. The event garnered attendance from Registrar Engr. Cdre (r) Syed Sarfraz Ali SI (M), Deans, Chairmen, HODs, faculty members, and other esteemed guests.

During the event, Dr. Sehrish Gul delivered a comprehensive presentation on Kyungdong University, spotlighting its 33 undergraduate programs and a diverse student body exceeding 7,500, including 1,500 international students from 24 different nationalities. Prof. Dr. Rabia Noor Enam, Director ORIC at SSUET, provided valuable insights into Sir Syed University.

Expressing his enthusiasm, President KDU, Prof. Dr. Johan Lee, highlighted Kyungdong University’s standing as a premier institution, especially in the employment ratings of its graduates. He emphasized the institution’s commitment to nurturing leaders dedicated to national and global service.

Vice Chancellor SSUET, Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, acknowledged the dynamic nature of the academic sector and stressed the importance of adapting courses to the evolving environment. He commended the collaboration as a commendable initiative offering SSUET students opportunities for foreign university study and research exploration.

Registrar SSUET, Engr. Cdre (r) Syed Sarfraz Ali SI (M), emphasized the benefits of the student exchange program, providing undergraduate students with the chance to earn credit hours and gain international exposure.
