Karachi, November 26, 2023 : Yet another case of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) has been identified in Karachi.
A 52-year-old resident of Ittehad Town, admitted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) two days ago, has tested positive for Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), according to the health department.
The patient had been raising a goat for a month. Earlier this month, Karachi saw a total of 17 patients, including both suspected and confirmed cases of CCHF. Among them, two individuals succumbed to the illness, while the others successfully recovered.
In 2023, Karachi documented three instances of the tick-borne viral illness, resulting in one fatality.
