Fans of Shahrukh Khan in Pakistan have a reason to rejoice as his latest release for 2023, ‘Dunki’, is now available on OTT platforms.

Following a triumphant 50-day theatrical run worldwide, the film is now set to debut on the streaming platform Netflix. This allows viewers from around the globe, including Pakistan, to enjoy the movie from the comfort of their homes. The announcement was made by the Bollywood star through a playful video.

Contrary to earlier reports from Indian media outlets suggesting that the digital rights of ‘Dunki’ were sold to Jio Cinema, the film has been released on the streaming platform Netflix.

The announcement video, shared jointly by Khan and Netflix on Wednesday morning, featured the text: “Dil ke liye visa nahi lagta. Aa rahe hai aapke ghar, Dunki maarke (No visa needed for the heart. Coming to your homes via Dunki).”

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, ‘Dunki’ featured a stellar cast including Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, Boman Irani, Anil Grover, and Shahrukh Khan. The comedy-drama revolves around the concept of an illegal backdoor route known as ‘Donkey Flight’, used by Indians to immigrate to Western countries.

With a production budget of INR 120 crore, the film grossed INR 470 crore in worldwide ticket sales during its theatrical run.
