PSX concludes on downward trend, drops 1,047 pts

Karachi, April 29, 2024 : The KSE-100 index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended Monday on a negative trajectory, shedding 1,047.71 points with a decline of 1.44 percent, closing at 71,695.03 points compared to the previous trading day’s 72,742.74 points.

During today’s trading session, the PSX 100-index displayed a wide range of movement, reaching a new all-time high at 73,300.75 points and recording a low of 71,602.94 points.

A total of 613,314,754 shares, valued at Rs 26.314 billion, exchanged hands throughout the day, contrasting with the previous day’s trading activity of 541,144,650 shares valued at Rs 22.589 billion.

During today’s trading session, 385 companies participated in the stock market, with 133 of them registering gains and 231 sustaining losses, while the prices of 21 remained unchanged.

It’s worth noting that on the last business day of the week, the PSX reached new heights, gaining 771.35 points with a positive change of 1.07 percent, closing at 72,742.75 points compared to the previous trading day’s 71,971.40 points.

Today, the KSE-100 benchmark displayed a range of movement, with the high reaching 72,862.41 points and the low at 71,764.18 points.

A total of 541,144,650 shares, valued at Rs 22.589 billion, were traded during the day, contrasting with the previous day’s trading activity of 798,527,177 shares valued at Rs 27.542 billion.

In today’s trading, 375 companies transacted their shares, with 175 of them recording gains and 175 sustaining losses, while the prices of 25 remained unchanged.
