USD strengthens against Pakistani rupee

Karachi, April 29, 2024 : On Monday, the Pakistani Rupee experienced a marginal decrease of Rs 0.1 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading, concluding at Rs 278.39, as opposed to the previous day’s closing rate of Rs 278.38.

As per the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the open market saw the dollar’s buying and selling rates at Rs 277.25 and Rs 279.85 respectively.

Simultaneously, the Euro experienced a decrease of 49 paisa, settling at Rs 298.38 compared to the previous day’s Rs 298.87, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese Yen held steady at Rs 1.78, while the British Pound saw a slight increase of 31 paisa, reaching Rs 348.79 compared to the previous closing of Rs 348.48.

Meanwhile, the rates for the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal remained unchanged, closing at Rs 75.79 and Rs 74.22 respectively.

In last week’s interbank trading, the Pakistani Rupee gained 10 paisa against the US dollar, closing at Rs 278.38 compared to the previous day’s Rs 278.48.

However, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the open market buying and selling rates for the dollar were recorded at Rs 277.25 and Rs 279.8 respectively.

The Euro saw a 20 paisa increase, closing at Rs 298.87 against the previous day’s Rs 298.67, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese Yen remained stable at Rs 1.78, while the British Pound increased by 07 paisa, trading at Rs 348.48 compared to the previous closing of Rs 348.41.
