PSX continues bearish trend, loses 592.49 pts

Karachi, April 30, 2024 : During the second business day of the week, the KSE-100 index at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) observed a bearish trend, dropping 592.49 points to close at 71,102.54 points, down from the previous day’s 71,695.03 points.

Today’s trading session at PSX sees the KSE-100 benchmark ranging between a high of 72,119.65 points and a low of 71,059.62 points.

Additionally, a total of 232,912,683 shares worth Rs 15.33 billion were traded, compared to 613,314,754 shares worth Rs 26.314 billion on the previous day.

In today’s stock market activity, 383 companies traded shares, with 122 gaining and 244 losing, while 27 remained unchanged.

The market saw a downturn following the State Bank of Pakistan’s announcement of maintaining the policy rate at 22 percent for the seventh consecutive session.

Yesterday, the KSE-100 of the PSX closed negatively, dropping 1,047.71 points to 71,695.03 points from the previous day’s 72,742.74 points.

Today, the PSX 100-index ranged from a high of 73,300.75 points to a low of 71,602.94 points.

A total of 613,314,754 shares worth Rs 26.314 billion were traded, up from 541,144,650 shares worth Rs 22.589 billion the previous day.

In today’s trading, 385 companies participated, with 133 gaining, 231 losing, and 21 unchanged.
