Pakistani rupee registers gain against USD

Karachi, April 30, 2024 : Following a slight dip, the Pakistani Rupee strengthened by 0.8 paisa against the US dollar on Tuesday in interbank trading, closing at Rs 278.31 compared to the previous day’s Rs 278.39.

As per the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the dollar’s buying and selling rates in the open market stood at Rs 277.35 and Rs 280, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Euro’s price dropped by 42 paise, closing at Rs 297.96 compared to the previous Rs 298.38, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese Yen’s exchange rate decreased by 01 paise, closing at Rs1.77. Conversely, the British Pound saw a slight increase of 20 paise, reaching Rs348.99 from the previous Rs348.79.

In addition, the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal both decreased by 02 paise each, closing at Rs75.77 and Rs74.20, respectively.

Last week, the Pakistani Rupee gained 10 paise against the US dollar in interbank trading, closing at Rs 278.38 from the previous Rs 278.48.

Meanwhile, as reported by the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the dollar’s buying and selling rates in the open market were Rs 277.25 and Rs 279.8, respectively.

The Euro’s price rose by 20 paise, closing at Rs 298.87 compared to the previous Rs 298.67, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese Yen held steady at Rs1.78, while the British Pound increased by 07, trading at Rs348.48 from the last closing of Rs348.41.
