Karachi: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) released a new intermediate exam schedule on Thursday.
According to the new schedule, intermediate exams will run from June 1 to July 1. A total of 290,000 students are expected to take the exams. Science group exams will be held in the morning from 9 am to 12 pm, while general group exams will take place in the afternoon from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The new schedule was announced a day after BIEK Chairman Prof. Nasim Ahmed Memon confirmed that exams will begin on June 1, as starting on May 28 was not feasible.
In a statement, Memon explained that holding matric and intermediate exams simultaneously at the same centers was impossible. The board has requested a four-day extension from the education minister. Initially, intermediate exams were planned for the morning, with matric exams in the evening.
Previously, the Sindh government postponed intermediate exams across the province for five days due to the ongoing heatwave.
