Lahore, July 04, 2024: The Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi opened up about several issues referring to the Pakistan cricket team on Thursday.

During an informal conversation with reporters, the head of PCB shed light on various issues including ‘surgery’ in the Pakistan cricket team, the future of Babar Azam as captain, and the renovation of major cricket stadiums before the upcoming ICC Champion Trophy in Pakistan.

Mohsin Naqvi asserted that the hasty decision often causes major damage, adding that the ‘surgery’ will happen but will take time.

“People are asking about surgery but one should not take any decision while you are angry, whoever made wrong decisions in the selection committee will also be held accountable,” he said.

Responding to a question related to Shan Masood’s Test captaincy, he disclosed having a video call with the cricketer on improvement in Test cricket, meanwhile, due to the positive reports from ex-cricketers, Shan Masood will continue his captaincy in test format.

“No decision has been made to remove Masood as Test captain of Pakistan team,” he stated.

On Wahab Riaz’s role as chief selector, Naqvio said: “I did not make Wahab Riaz the chief selector, in fact I made Riaz selector from the chief selector role.”
