Met office predicts Heatwave on 9,10 Muharram

Karachi, July 14, 2024: According to the Sunday weather update from the Met Office, a new heatwave is forecasted to affect the city on Tuesday and Wednesday (Muharram 9 and 10).

The weather is expected to be hot and humid on July 16 and 17, with the suspension of the low-pressure sea breeze potentially causing temperatures to rise as high as 39 degrees Celsius, as reported by the Met Office.

In Thatta and Sujawal districts, temperatures could reach up to 41 degrees Celsius, the weather report indicated.

Other districts in Sindh will experience hot and humid weather conditions.

Eastern districts like Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, and Sanghar are expected to receive rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.

Karachi may experience drizzling on July 16, according to the Met Office’s weather update.

The weather department has forecasted the onset of monsoon currents in Karachi starting from July 18, with the likelihood of heavy rainfall on July 19 and 20.
