Karachi, August 02, 2024: On the last business day of the week, the 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a bullish trend, gaining 485.68 points, or 0.62%, closing at 78,225.98 points compared to the previous 77,740.31 points.
During intraday trade, the KSE-100 index peaked at 78,434.16 points and dipped to a low of 77,926.53 points before settling at 78,225.98 points.
A total of 443,483,358 shares were traded throughout the day, up from 278,986,985 shares the day before, with the total value of shares reaching Rs 20.497 billion compared to Rs 13.094 billion on the previous trading day.
In the stock market, 439 companies traded their shares; 236 recorded gains, 142 sustained losses, and 61 saw no change in their share prices.
It is worth noting that the 100-index of the PSX had been on a bearish trend for three consecutive days earlier in the week, losing 146.68 points, or 0.19%, closing at 77,740.31 points down from 77,886.99 points.
During that period, the KSE-100 index hit a high of 78,241.02 points and a low of 77,595.92 points before settling at 77,740.31 points.
On that trading day, 278,986,985 shares were traded compared to 382,597,400 shares the day before, with the total value of shares at Rs 13.094 billion, down from Rs 14.638 billion. Out of 433 companies, 172 recorded gains, 198 experienced losses, and 63 saw no change in their share prices.
