Karachi, August 02, 2024: A founding member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and owner of a private hospital, Dr. Shahid Siddique, was shot dead outside a mosque in Lahore.

The incident occurred after Friday prayers when unidentified individuals arrived in a vehicle and targeted Dr. Siddique outside Khizra Mosque in Valencia Town.

According to police, Dr. Siddique was shot multiple times and died while being transported to the nearest hospital.

At the time of the attack, his son and driver were present but remained unharmed. The assailants managed to flee the scene.

The police have collected evidence and launched an investigation into the case. Punjab Police IG Dr. Usman Anwar has issued orders for the immediate arrest of the suspects.

It is noted that Dr. Siddique had residences in Johar Town and Valencia Town, Lahore.
