KARACHI, November 21 2024: In a significant achievement for Pakistan, the country’s pavilion was awarded the prestigious “Best Pavilion” award at the Global Sourcing Expo held at the Melbourne Convention Center from November 19 to 21, 2024. This remarkable success is a testament to the visionary leadership of Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, whose strategic guidance ensured a prominent representation of Pakistan on the international stage.
The Global Sourcing Expo, the largest exhibition for textiles, leather, and home textile products in the Oceania region, attracted exhibitors from major export nations such as China, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, and South Africa. Despite intense competition, Pakistan’s pavilion stood out due to its superior design, engaging displays, and the exceptional quality of its showcased products.
This victory is a direct result of the forward-thinking approach of Jam Kamal Khan, who instructed Trade and Investment Officers (TIOs) to prioritize creating world-class pavilions at international exhibitions. His vision emphasized the need to promote Pakistan’s diverse and high-quality exports, ensuring Pakistani products remain competitive in global markets.
The Pakistan pavilion featured 21 companies, sponsored by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), focusing on key sectors such as textiles, leather, and home textiles. These sectors contribute to $190 million of Pakistan’s $300 million annual exports to Australia. H.E. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Australia, inaugurated the pavilion, interacted with exhibitors, and received the “Best Pavilion” shield on behalf of TDAP during the event’s Welcome Reception.
Jam Kamal Khan extended his congratulations to TDAP, the exhibitors, and the Pakistani community in Australia for their collective efforts. He remarked, “This award reflects Pakistan’s commitment to excellence and innovation in its export sectors. Our vision is to ensure that Pakistani products not only compete but also shine in the most competitive markets worldwide.”
With this accolade, Pakistan has cemented its position as a key player in global trade, further motivating efforts to enhance export quality and expand market reach under the strategic leadership of Jam Kamal Khan.
