Karachi, December 4, 2024: YouTube has released its End-of-Year List for 2024, highlighting the platform’s top videos that captured the attention of audiences across Pakistan. The list reflects the diverse entertainment and informational preferences of Pakistani viewers, offering a snapshot of the country’s evolving digital trends.
This year, YouTube’s rankings are divided into three categories: Top Trending Videos, Top Music Videos, and Top Creators. 2024 has been a year of remarkable growth for Pakistani content creators, with a 60% increase in content uploads compared to the previous year.
Entertainment continues to dominate the trends, with local dramas and high-octane action films taking the lead in the Top Trending Videos category. Popular dramas like “Ishq Murshid,” “Jaan Nisar,” and “Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum” clinched the top three positions, underscoring Pakistan’s deep-rooted love for captivating narratives. Action-packed films, especially South Indian blockbusters like “Tiger Nageswara Rao” and “SKANDA” starring Ram Pothineni, also gained immense traction.
In the Top Music Videos category, the power of music to unite diverse audiences was evident. The top tracks of 2024 include a Punjabi chartbuster, a Bollywood anthem, and a heartfelt Pakistani ballad. These songs not only enjoyed massive success in their respective regions but also brought people together across cultures, demonstrating the universal appeal of music.
The Top Creators list celebrates the creativity and authenticity of individuals who have built substantial followings on YouTube. Channels like Rajab’s Family, Anaya Eeshal Family, Arshad Reels, and Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad highlight the variety of content that resonates with Pakistani viewers—from family vlogs to health and lifestyle content. In 2024, there was also a 25% increase in the number of creators earning over PKR10 million annually, further demonstrating the growing potential of YouTube as a platform for creators to build thriving businesses.
Farhan Qureshi, Google’s Country Director for Pakistan, praised the international reach of Pakistani creators, with 65% of their viewership coming from outside the country. “Pakistani creators are captivating a global audience. With the future possibilities of AI, we’re excited to see how creators will elevate their content and strengthen their connections with viewers around the world,” he remarked.
