Saudia Expands Global Operations, Strengthens Connectivity with Pakistan in 2024

KARACHI, January 30, 2025: Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, achieved remarkable international growth in 2024, recording a 16% increase in global passenger traffic and an 18% rise in transit guests, according to its latest performance report. The airline transported 20 million international passengers, reinforcing its position as a key global connector while further strengthening ties with Pakistan and other major markets.

Pakistan remains a crucial market for Saudia, as millions of Pakistanis travel to the Kingdom annually for Hajj, Umrah, business, and tourism. The airline’s expansion is playing a pivotal role in enhancing bilateral ties, ensuring seamless connectivity and improved travel options for Pakistani passengers. The airline’s operations are also aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, promoting tourism and fostering economic collaboration between the two nations.

Record-Breaking Operational Performance

In 2024, Saudia’s total passenger count reached 35 million, reflecting a 15% year-on-year increase. The airline successfully operated 193,000 scheduled and additional flights, marking a 10% increase from the previous year. Flight hours also grew by 8.5%, surpassing 581,000 hours, while Saudia maintained an impressive on-time performance rate of 89.1%, a 2.7% improvement over 2023.

Additionally, Saudia saw a significant boost in guest satisfaction, as its Net Promoter Score (NPS) rose to 32.7, reflecting a 4.5% increase in customer experience and likelihood of recommendation.

His Excellency Eng. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, highlighted the airline’s continuous efforts in delivering world-class service:

The airline has made substantial progress in digital transformation, with a 40% rise in mobile app usage and a staggering 324% growth in digital service adoption, thanks to initiatives like GovClick – Saudi Arabia’s Government Digital Wallet. Pakistani travelers remain among the most active users of Saudia’s digital services, benefiting from seamless booking experiences and enhanced customer engagement.

Future Expansion and Fleet Growth

Looking ahead, Saudia plans to expand its fleet by 118 new aircraft, further boosting capacity and extending its global network. This ambitious growth strategy aims to strengthen connectivity between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, offering more flight options and catering to the increasing travel demand.
