Karachi, October 29, 2025: The Memon Leadership Forum (MLF) has expanded its footprint in East Africa, organizing a two-day international business conference in Mombasa, Kenya, to strengthen bilateral trade and foster entrepreneurship between Pakistan and Kenya.
Hosted by the MLF East Africa Chapter, the 2nd Memon Leadership Conference was held on October 21–22, bringing together over 57 delegates from Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa, the US, UK, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, Mozambique, the UAE, and Europe. Members of the Kenya Memon Jamaat also attended, highlighting the growing unity among local and global Memon communities.

Rafique Suleman, Chairman of MLF East Africa and former REAP Chairman, said the conference created a strong platform for networking, cross-border trade, technology partnerships, youth empowerment, and economic sustainability. He emphasized that Pakistan’s rice exports to Kenya could receive a significant boost, generating foreign exchange for Pakistan’s economy.
The event, held under the leadership of Abdul Rahim Janoo (Global President), Sir Iqbal Sacranie (Senior Vice President), and Hamza Tabani (Secretary General), reflected MLF’s mission to promote global connectivity, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy within the Memon community.

The opening ceremony was graced by Senator Mohamed Faki Mwinyihaji, Chief Guest representing Mombasa County, alongside dignitaries including Mohamed Osman Ali, Kibwana Swaleh, Erick Gitonga, Ambassador Abdul Razzak Al Hashimi, Asim Basharullah, Hasnain Noorani, and Mohammed Begha.
Suleman thanked international delegates, sponsors, and partners for their contributions and recognized the organizing team — Osman Varwani, Javed Haroon, Sikander Pasta, Arif Ali Khan, Faisal Anis Majid, Naeem Pasta, Suleiman Bachoo, Sahil Harunani, and Ahmed Kadernani — for their efforts.
