Islamabad, February 04, 2021: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) maintained its position as the market leader in upstream petroleum sector by securing maximum acreage nationwide for drilling new wells.
Director General of Petroleum Concession (PC) has communicated provisional award of new exploration blocks to OGDCL.
The energy giant shall be working as an operator in ten blocks and as JV Partner with Mari Petroleum and PPL in one block.
These blocks have been awarded after competitive bidding, on the basis of work units committed by different companies in the block bidding round 2020 arranged by the Government of Pakistan.

OGDCL is keen to explore new blocks in Baluchistan and has won three blocks in the province namely Killa Saifullah, Sharan and Suleiman.
The company has taken aggressive initiatives regarding exploration & production activities despite security challenges.
In addition to three blocks in Baluchistan, five blocks in Punjab, two in Sindh and one in KPK have also been awarded to the company. Further formalities for the award of these blocks will be completed in the near future. NNI
