Karachi – February 21, 2019: Encroached construction around power infrastructure is posing severe public safety hazard.
K-Electric (KE) continues to seek strong government support and rigorous enforcement for immediate removal of all such unplanned settlements, illegal networks and encroachments so that public safety is not compromised.
Few months ago, Supreme Court of Pakistan also directed the KE officials that they must take steps to improve the infrastructure and control power theft as well as the distribution system.
KE has reiterated that illegal hook connections and encroachments around power infrastructure is a severe public safety hazard. The power utility has also identified illegal settlements/encroachments around power infrastructure across its network to concerned authorities for immediate action.
KE ensures strict compliance to respective safety protocols and procedures, it also appeals to the public for their own safety to maintain distance from power infrastructure including electric lines, transformer and poles.
