Karachi, May 17, 2019: K-Electric (KE) defeated Santex Group (SG) with 3 wickets to spare in their second match of the on-going Naya Nazimabad Ramazan Cup, held at Naya Nazimabad Stadium, Karachi.
A score of 46 runs by Jahanzaib Sultan, who was well supported by Muhammad Mohsin with 35 runs and Umair Yousuf with 33 runs, enabled KE to successfully achieve the set target of 173 runs. KE’s Mohammad Mohsin was the main wicket-taker for the power utility with three wickets.
After winning the Man of the Match award for his superb all-around performance, Muhammad Mohsin said; “It was a very exhilarating match that went down to the last ball. We look forward to more exciting matches like this in the tournament”.
Team Captain, Hasan Khan, who KE has groomed for four years and who has represented Pakistan at the U-19 World Cup and Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League, said the win showed KE’s cricket initiative will enable the development of future cricket champions for Pakistan. “There’s a lot of positive energy in the ranks. And this can be attributed to our management who are committed to empowering local youth to develop its talent,” he added.
KE will now play their next league game against National Bank of Pakistan on 19th May, at Naya Nazimabad Stadium, Karachi. KE earlier won its first match of the tournament against Al-Rehman Foundation by nine wickets.
