Islamabad, November 04, 2023: According to his wife, Fawad Chaudhry, a former federal minister who recently quit the PTI due to the violence on May 9, was taken into custody from his Islamabad home.
“Fawad has been arrested and taken to an unknown place,” Hiba Chaudhry wrote on X.

A day after PTI leader Asad Qaiser was detained by police in Islamabad in connection with a corruption case, Fawad was also arrested.
Fawad was taken into custody from his home in January after he openly “threatened” the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) officials.
In June of this year, the former leader of the PTI apologized to the electoral watchdog for allegedly using “intemperate” language directed at Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja and the ECP.
