Islamabad, November 04, 2023 : Senator Ishaq Dar was appointed by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Friday to lead the party’s election cell for the impending elections.
With Shehbaz Sharif’s approval, PML-N secretary general Ahsan Iqbal released a notification on Saturday in this regard.
The notification stated, “Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar is hereby appointed as Chairman, Election Cell PML-N, for General Elections 2024, with the approval of the President PML-N.
PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said on X, formerly Twitter, that the party’s election-related activities will proceed even faster in light of the most recent appointment.

It is important to note that the PML-N has already extended an invitation to interested candidates to submit an application in order to run in the general elections.
After receiving a notification from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding the poll date, the Supreme Court on Friday set February 8, 2024, as the date for national general elections.
Several petitions for elections within the ninety-day period following the dissolution of the national and provincial assemblies were heard by a three-person panel of the highest court.
