Karachi, November 10, 2023: A woman lost her life, and eight others, including children, sustained injuries when a bus, reportedly moving at high speed, struck people waiting at a bus stop on Friday.
Initial reports indicate that a high-speed passenger bus collided with individuals waiting at a bus stop on Karachi’s Shahrai-e-Faisal, causing the death of a woman and injuring eight others. Subsequently, a traffic jam occurred on the city’s major road, which was later resolved by the traffic police.
Upon receiving information about the tragic incident, rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene and transported the injured to the hospital.
As per preliminary reports, the identities of the deceased and injured individuals could not be determined.
In a distinct road mishap in October, at least seven individuals, including two women, sustained injuries when a passenger bus overturned outside the Governor’s House in Karachi. The bus, carrying 30 passengers, including students, flipped outside the governor’s house.
According to the students who were on board, the bus driver was using his mobile phone and speeding, leading to the overturning of the bus.
