new oil gas reserves discovered

OGDCL, a prominent state-owned exploration and production company in Pakistan, makes a significant discovery of gas and condensate at Dars West Well 02 in Tando Allahyar District, Sindh.

On Friday, the company communicated this development through a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). According to the filing, the Joint Venture of Dars West Development and Production Lease (D&PL), with Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) as the operator (77.5%) and GHPL (22.5% carried), has successfully discovered Gas & Condensate in the “C” Sands of Lower Goru Formation through exploratory efforts at Development Well Dars West 02.

Notably, the configuration of Dars West Well 02 underwent drilling and testing utilizing OGDCL’s internal capabilities. The well reached a depth of 2081 meters.

Dars West Well demonstrated a testing output of 8.51 MMSCFD gas and 360 BPD condensate, using a choke size of 32/64″ at Well Head Flowing Pressure of 1947 PSI from the Lower Guru C-Sand (Exploratory Zone).

The detection of Dars West Well 02 is a product of the company’s proactive exploration approach. OGDCL stated, “It would contribute to the hydrocarbon reserves base of the OGDCL, joint venture partners, and the country.”
