KARACHI: K-Electric Limited (KEL) announced on Tuesday that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved the generation tariff for all its power plants for the period after June 2023.
K-Electric submitted its application to NEPRA on December 1, 2022, requesting the approval of the generation tariff for its power plants, under Rule 3(1) of NEPRA (Tariff Standards and Procedure) Rules, 1998. The company is currently reviewing NEPRA’s decision in detail and stated that it will explore all available remedies, if necessary, in line with statutory provisions.
In addition, NEPRA is still determining the Multi-Year Tariffs for K-Electric’s transmission, distribution, and supply businesses for the fiscal years 2024 to 2030. These tariffs are critical for the preparation of financial statements for the period following June 30, 2023. K-Electric will inform the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) once these tariff petitions are approved.
