KARACHI, December 19, 2024: The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, in collaboration with its Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (IBA-CED), successfully conducted the Winter Immersion Program 2024 from December 16-19 at its City Campus. This initiative brought together distinguished international trainers and thought leaders to emphasize the growing role of entrepreneurship education, research, and incubation in academia.
Key Highlights of the Program
The program aimed to redefine how universities approach entrepreneurship by equipping educators and professionals with the tools to foster innovation and entrepreneurial skills among students.
- Keynote Address by Dr. S. Akbar Zaidi
Dr. Zaidi, Executive Director of IBA Karachi, underscored the need for an updated curriculum that aligns with the evolving business landscape. He remarked:

The program featured three esteemed trainers:- Dr. Sanna Ilonen and Mr. Joachim Ramstrom from the School of Economics, University of Turku, Finland, led the first workshop titled “Fostering Entrepreneurship in Academia.” With over two decades of combined experience, they guided participants on crafting engaging entrepreneurship modules and courses.
- Islam Mohamed, Chief Investment Officer at Arweqah Al Reyadah, Saudi Arabia, conducted the second workshop, “Elevating Innovators and Incubators,” sharing hands-on knowledge for designing and managing university-based business incubators.
