KARACHI Aug 17,2026: The Sindh Government’s Minorities Affairs Department has conferred the prestigious “Pride of Minority” Award 2026 on Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Anthony Naveed in recognition of his outstanding public service, parliamentary contributions and community leadership.
According to an official notification, the awards were presented on the occasion of National Minorities Day at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, on August 11, 2026.
Anthony Naveed, a prominent leader of Pakistan’s Christian community, was recognised for his role in public service and parliamentary affairs. As Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Provincial Assembly, he has raised issues concerning minority communities at legislative and public forums while performing key parliamentary responsibilities.
The honour has been welcomed as a significant achievement for Anthony Naveed and a proud moment for the Christian community in Pakistan. His recognition highlights the importance of public representatives who work for community welfare, social inclusion and the empowerment of minority groups.
The Sindh Government also honoured Dr. Manisha Rupeta, Dr. Murli Lal, Dr. Murli Dhar, Parth Shivani, Baby Bagri, Jhamat Jethanand and Gulbano Bamji for their contributions to public service, medicine, education, social welfare, law and community development.
The official notification stated that the awards were approved in recognition of the recipients’ exceptional public service, professional excellence and sustained community leadership.
The recognition of Anthony Naveed also underscores the Sindh Government’s efforts to acknowledge individuals contributing to social cohesion, public welfare and minority empowerment across the province.
