12 Investors Show Interest in FESCO Privatisation

ISLAMABAD, August 8, 2026: The Privatisation Commission has received 12 Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from local and international investors for the privatisation of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO).

The investors have expressed interest in acquiring between 51% and 100% of FESCO’s shareholding, along with management control.

Eight Pakistani investors or investor groups submitted EOIs. Meanwhile, three investors came from Türkiye and one from China.

The interested parties include Aktor Elektrik Enerji Yatırımları, Genvera Enerji (Celik Group) and Cengiz Enerji from Türkiye.

Jiang Xi Electric Power Construction submitted an EOI from China.

From Pakistan, the interested parties include Engro Energy, Sapphire Fibres, Hub Power Holdings and Lucky Cement, Shirazi Investments (Atlas Group), Maple Leaf Cement and Kohinoor Textile, Nishat Mills and Pak Elektron, Artistic Milliners, and K-Electric.

The strong response highlights significant investor interest in Pakistan’s power distribution sector. In addition, participation from foreign investors could bring new investment, technology and management expertise to FESCO.

The Privatisation Commission received the EOIs on the closing date for submissions. The commission will now move forward with the next stages of the privatisation process.

The FESCO process is part of the government’s broader effort to attract private investment and improve the performance of state-owned power distribution companies.

FESCO supplies electricity to a large consumer base across Faisalabad and surrounding areas. Therefore, successful privatisation could have a significant impact on the region’s industrial, commercial and residential electricity services.
