Federal Cabinet Appoints Shoaib Javed Hussain as CEO of SLIC for Second Term

Karachi, August 6, 2025:
The Federal Cabinet of Pakistan, acting on the recommendation of the Ministry of Commerce, has appointed Mr. Shoaib Javed Hussain as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan (SLIC) for an additional three-year term, effective August 6, 2025.

Under Mr. Hussain’s leadership since March 2021, SLIC has witnessed a period of unprecedented transformation and growth. The corporation achieved a remarkable +300% increase in profit, +181% growth in revenue, and +100% increase in profits allocated to policyholders over the last four years. These achievements have been fueled by a robust digital transformation strategy, the launch of innovative insurance products, and substantial improvements in customer service and operational efficiency.
Mr. Hussain is a qualified actuary with a Master’s degree in Actuarial Management from Bayes Business School, City University London, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK). With over 20 years of international experience across Europe, North America, and Asia, he has held senior executive positions at AIA Group, Milliman, Prudential, EY, and HSBC. In addition to leading SLIC, Mr. Hussain currently serves as Chairman of the Insurance Association of Pakistan, and sits on the boards of Sui Southern Gas Company, Pakistan Cables Limited, and Fauji Fertilizer Company.

Established in 1972, SLIC is Pakistan’s largest public sector life and health insurer, providing financial security to millions of individuals and families.
