Onic Launches Pakistan’s First AI-Powered In-App Chat Assistant for Mobile Support

KARACHI, July 4,2026: Onic has launched Onic AI Assist, Pakistan’s first intelligent in-app chat companion, allowing customers to resolve mobile service queries instantly through the Onic app and web portal at no additional cost.

The AI-powered assistant lets users ask questions in natural language and receive instant support for SIM activation, plan management, bill payments, data usage, connectivity issues, and roaming services.

Moreover, when a query requires human intervention, AI Assist seamlessly transfers the conversation to Onic’s customer support team while preserving the chat history. This eliminates the need for users to repeat their issue or visit a service centre.

Onic said it developed the assistant specifically for Pakistani users. AI Assist understands Roman Urdu, Urdu-English mixed language, conversational texting styles and common spelling variations, making customer interactions more natural and convenient.

John McEvoy, Chief Executive Officer of e& international Digital Joint Venture, said artificial intelligence can make customer service faster, simpler and more intuitive. He added that the new platform removes friction from telecom support while ensuring a smooth transition to human agents whenever needed.

Meanwhile, Omer Bin Tariq, Country Head of Onic Pakistan, said the company designed AI Assist to make customer support effortless. He added that the platform understands how customers naturally communicate and delivers faster, smarter and more personalized assistance.

The launch marks another step in Onic’s digital transformation strategy. The company aims to enhance customer experience by expanding AI-powered self-service solutions and improving accessibility for mobile users across Pakistan.
