KARACHI, October 6, 2026: The KSE-100 Index rebounded strongly on Tuesday, gaining 2,593 points, or 1.56%, to close at 168,460.
The index moved between 165,652 and 168,626 during the trading session. Buying interest returned across several major sectors.
Banks, oil and gas exploration companies, cement, automobiles, oil marketing companies, refineries and power stocks remained in demand.
Heavyweight stocks, including UBL, HBL, OGDC, PPL, POL and HUBC, supported the market’s recovery.
The rebound came after the index faced a sharp correction in the previous session. Investors appeared to use the decline as an opportunity to buy stocks at lower levels.
Easing concerns over international oil prices also provided some relief to investors. Brent crude was trading at around US$98.32 per barrel, down about 2% during the day.
ENGROH, UBL, HUBC, OGDC and HBL were among the major contributors to the index. Together, these stocks added around 941 points to the KSE-100.
Trading activity remained strong during the session. Total market volume reached approximately 432 million shares, while traded value stood at around PKR 20.1 billion.
The strong recovery reflected renewed buying interest as investors responded to lower prices and improved sentiment in key sectors.
