Over 1,000 cameras activated for e-challan in Karachi, check locations here

Karachi, October 30, 2025: Karachi Traffic Police took an important step toward digital traffic enforcement when they activated 1,076 surveillance cameras as part of Karachi’s smart e-challan system to track violations and improve traffic management.

Karachi Traffic Police announced through their spokesperson that cameras have been installed at major intersections, roads and public areas in Karachi to detect violations, accidents, congestion in real time.

On Shahra-e-Faisal, cameras have been strategically installed at Baloch Bridge, Regent Plaza, Nursery, the airport, Drug Road and Star Gate to provide continuous surveillance along the city’s busiest transportation artery.

Red Fort, Karsaz Bridge and Metropole as well as Jinnah Terminal Wireless Gate and Haji Terminal now boast additional surveillance systems to increase security coverage.

Empress Market, Arts Council, Regal Chowk and Fawara Chowk are monitored by this camera network; as are key government and institutional zones like Sindh Assembly, Secretariat and Supreme Court Registry.

Traffic monitoring activities have been launched at II Chundrigar Road, Pakistan Stock Exchange, City Court, Urdu Bazaar and Radio Pakistan to increase surveillance across Karachi’s commercial and administrative hubs.

Modern cameras have been installed throughout NIPA Chowrangi, Gulshan Chowrangi, University Road, Rashid Minhas Road and Millennium Mall to enable effective traffic management within these densely populated neighborhoods.

The Traffic Control Center oversees monitoring at Expo Center, Civic Center and National Stadium as well as smart surveillance in Tin Talwar, Do Talwar and TV Station Chowk.

Cameras have been strategically installed at Boat Basin, Zamzama, Khayaban-e-Ittehad, Khayaban-e-Shamsheer and Khayaban-e-Shahbaz to maintain discipline on Clifton and DHA roads.

Surveillance now encompasses Sea View, Abdullah Shah Ghazi Mazar and nearby international consulates; additionally, Ocean Tower, Park Towers, Dolmen Mall and Bin Qasim Park have been added for public safety purposes.

Traffic cameras can also be found along major routes like Lyari Expressway, M-9 Toll Plaza, Northern Bypass and Hub Chowki where modern sensors monitor vehicle movements and congestion patterns.

Karachi Traffic Police report that live feeds are being constantly monitored at Karachi Traffic Control Center to ensure timely responses for violations, road emergencies and accident management.

Officials explained that this new system aims to promote safe driving habits, reduce manual interventions and provide an accountable framework for digital traffic enforcement throughout Pakistan’s largest metropolis.
