KARACHI, August 10, 2026: Former Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), former Chairman of the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD), and Secretary General of United Business Group (UBG) Southern Region Muhammad Hanif Gohar has welcomed the historic defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
Gohar praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their leadership in concluding the agreement. He said the development reflects Pakistan’s commitment to peace, mutual respect and collective security in the region.
According to Gohar, the agreement will further strengthen the longstanding brotherly relations among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye. It could also contribute to a more secure, stable and peaceful region.
He said the agreement marks an important step towards expanding defence, diplomatic and strategic cooperation among the three countries. The agreement includes a commitment to mutual defence and security, under which an armed attack on one country would be treated as an attack on all three.
Gohar said the agreement could also bring the defence capabilities and experience of the three countries closer together. Pakistan could benefit from Türkiye’s defence technology, while Saudi Arabia could contribute its economic strength and regional influence. At the same time, Türkiye could benefit from Pakistan’s extensive military experience and defence cooperation.
He said the three countries could expand collaboration in defence production, military training, intelligence sharing, joint exercises and technological development.
Moreover, Gohar said closer defence coordination could strengthen regional deterrence and improve the balance of security in the region. A unified position, he added, could discourage potential aggression and support regional stability.
He also highlighted the agreement’s potential economic benefits. According to him, stronger defence ties could create new opportunities in defence manufacturing, research, technology transfer and local production.
Gohar said the agreement could therefore strengthen not only defence relations but also economic, industrial and diplomatic ties among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
