Meezan BankPosts Rs48.9 Billion Profit in H1 2026, Declares 80% Interim Dividend

KARACHI, Aug. 7, 2026: Meezan Bank reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs48.88 billion for the half year ended June 30, 2026, reflecting a 6% year-on-year increase. The bank also announced an interim cash dividend of 80%, equivalent to Rs8 per share, for the second quarter of 2026.

According to the bank, earnings per share (EPS) rose to Rs27.15 from Rs25.72 in the same period last year, while annualised return on equity (ROE) stood at 34.7%. The Board of Directors approved the financial results at a meeting chaired by Chairman Riyadh S.A.A. Edrees.

Meezan Bank maintained a strong financial position, with total assets reaching Rs5.14 trillion compared with Rs4.81 trillion at the end of December 2025. Its Capital Adequacy Ratio remained above 19%, well above the regulatory requirement, while its market capitalization exceeded US$3.3 billion.

The bank also continued to demonstrate strong asset quality, reporting a non-performing financing (NPF) ratio of 1.83%, among the lowest in Pakistan’s banking sector. Its provisioning coverage ratio stood at 152%.

Net spread income increased 2% to Rs128.79 billion, while non-funded income surged 36% to Rs21.63 billion, driven by higher foreign exchange earnings, branch banking fees, and debit card-related income.
