ISLAMABAD, August 24, 2026: The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi and DHA Islamabad-Rawalpindi have joined hands to expand access to quality higher education in the capital region.
The groundbreaking ceremony for IBA Karachi’s Islamabad Campus was held at DHA Islamabad Phase 5 on August 19.
IBA Karachi Executive Director Dr. S. Akbar Zaidi, the Administrator of DHA Islamabad, and officials and experts from various academic fields attended the ceremony.
Dr. Zaidi said the new campus would be an important milestone for Pakistan’s education sector. He said it would provide students from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern areas with access to international-standard education.
He added that the campus would help prepare capable future leaders and could develop into a leading centre of higher education in the region.
“Today, we are not merely laying the foundation of a campus; we are laying the foundation for Pakistan’s future leaders,” Dr. Zaidi said.
According to IBA Karachi, the initiative will focus on academic excellence, human capital development and leadership development.
The new campus will include a modern Academic Block, Research Block, Library and Auditorium. It will also offer modern sports and residential facilities for students.
Dr. Zaidi said the Islamabad Campus would strengthen IBA Karachi’s focus on knowledge, research and practical impact. It would also create new opportunities for collaboration between academic institutions and industry.
The campus is expected to provide students from the capital region and surrounding areas with greater access to quality higher education and new academic and professional opportunities.
