KARACHIAug 19,2026: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has pledged its full support to the Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) to expand its welfare initiatives across Pakistan.
Speaking at “An Evening with Shahid Afridi,” FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh said the business community would be encouraged to support SAF’s projects in healthcare, education, housing, disaster relief and clean water.
Shahid Afridi thanked FPCCI for its support and urged business leaders to play a greater role in nation-building. He also expressed his willingness to promote Pakistani exports internationally as a brand ambassador to support industrialization, job creation and social development.
Atif Ikram Sheikh praised Afridi’s transformation from a national cricket icon into a leading humanitarian. He said economic growth must go hand in hand with corporate social responsibility and appreciated SAF’s efforts to reach underserved communities.
FPCCI Senior Vice President Saquib Fayyaz Magoon said the organization would work with SAF to connect its welfare projects with CSR initiatives of chambers and trade associations across the country.
FPCCI Vice President and Regional Chairman Sindh Abdul Mohamin Khan said regional chambers were ready to support SAF’s fundraising and awareness campaigns, including projects such as schools and water filtration plants.
The event was also attended by DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah and Commodore Imran Khalid, SI (M), Chief of Staff ComCoast, Pakistan Navy, who praised the partnership between FPCCI and SAF and highlighted the role of sports, discipline and community service in nation-building.
