US-based Datarocx partners with Data Vault to boost AI Infrastructure in Pakistan

A major technology partnership between US-based Datarocx and Pakistan’s Data Vault is set to reshape the country’s digital landscape.

Datarocx, a US data center operator, has teamed up with Data Vault, Pakistan’s first AI-dedicated data center, in a strategic agreement aimed at positioning Pakistan as a regional leader in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.

The deal, signed in San Francisco, brings plans for significant capital investment into Pakistan’s technology ecosystem. Officials from both sides said the project is expected to generate hundreds of millions of dollars for advanced AI chips, GPU clusters, and high-density computing infrastructure.

Under the partnership, Datarocx will expand its US operations into Pakistan, while Data Vault will act as the sovereign, in-country AI platform. This arrangement ensures sensitive data and high-value workloads remain within Pakistan’s borders under secure, compliant environments.

The project also benefits from Datarocx securing Special Technology Zones Authority status, unlocking incentives designed to attract export-driven, high-technology investment. These incentives are expected to accelerate deployment of Pakistan AI infrastructure and expand opportunities for domestic and foreign customers.

The collaboration aligns with STZA’s plan to help establish an FDA-approved laboratory in Pakistan. Officials say this lab will support AI innovation across healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics and digital health, enabling global-standard research inside the country.

Datarocx CEO Baber Saeed said the company is committed to investing long-term capital in Pakistan and intends to replicate its integrated operating model, which delivers colocation, connectivity, cloud and managed services under one unified framework.

He noted that combining STZA’s policy support with Datarocx’s global standards and Data Vault’s local expertise will create a secure, high-performance AI environment that international clients can trust from the beginning.

Data Vault CEO Mehwish Salman Ali said Pakistan now has the talent, ambition and infrastructure required to compete internationally. She called the partnership a strategic investment in Pakistan’s future as an AI-enabled nation capable of exporting technology services worldwide.

Industry experts say the initiative will generate high-skill jobs in AI engineering, cybersecurity, cloud operations and data center management. It will also help universities, startups and research labs run large-scale AI models on local infrastructure instead of relying on foreign platforms.

Analysts believe the partnership will strengthen digital sovereignty, increase foreign direct investment and support the long-term development of Pakistan’s technology and AI ecosystem.
