TCF golf tournament raises funds to support children’s education

The Citizens Foundation (TCF) hosted its 22nd Annual Golf Tournament at the Karachi Golf Club, bringing together golfers, corporate partners and philanthropists committed to supporting Pakistan’s education sector and addressing the crisis of out-of-school children.

More than 100 golfers participated in the event, which has become one of TCF’s signature annual tournaments. Organisers said the primary goal was to raise funds for quality education for underprivileged children across Pakistan.

The event highlighted the gravity of Pakistan’s education emergency, with 26.2 million children currently out of school nationwide. Tournament proceeds will support TCF’s mission to provide learning opportunities to underserved communities.

Speaking about the urgent need for investment in education, Zaffar A. Khan, Chairman and Head of the Golf Committee, said Pakistan’s limited national progress is linked to inadequate focus on strengthening the education system.

For three decades, TCF has worked to break cycles of poverty through schooling. Today, its education network includes 2,261 school units nationwide, reaching 320,000 students and supported by a dedicated all-female faculty of 16,500 teachers.

Organisers said such progress has been possible due to sustained support from donors, partners and individuals who believe in TCF’s long-term vision of empowering communities through education and expanding opportunities for children.

Bank Alfalah CEO and President Atif Bajwa said the event reflected the value TCF adds to society and the economy. He emphasised that Bank Alfalah is honoured to contribute to a cause that strengthens Pakistan’s future.

This year’s tournament received major backing from Platinum Sponsors Bank Alfalah, Dubai Islamic Bank, Baacha Party, Bank Al Habib and Unilever. Each contributed PKR 5 million, helping strengthen TCF’s mission of bringing children back to school.

The 22nd Annual Golf Tournament reaffirmed TCF’s ongoing commitment to transforming communities and highlighted the powerful role collective action can play in addressing Pakistan’s education challenges, including millions of out-of-school children.
